Frozen marks the fourth time that Disney Animation has adapted one of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales into an animated short or feature-length film. The other three are The Little Mermaid (1989), The Little Matchgirl (2006), and “The Steadfast Tin Soldier” segment in Fantasia 2000 (1999).
